EXAM CLASSES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS

A2 – Beginner

An A2 qualification is proof of your ability to use English to communicate in simple situations and is suitable for students new to learning English.

B1 -Preliminary (PET)

This is an intermediate-level qualification for those who have mastered the basics of English. A minimum B1 is required for most university degrees in Spain, It’s the level that shows you have a working knowledge of English in an everyday situation. At the B1 level, you should be able to maintain a conversation in English without a communication breakdown.

B2 – First (FCE)

This level is more challenging and shows you have the language skills to communicate confidently in an English-speaking environment.

The expectation for First (FCE) is that candidates can handle complex situations. Timing becomes more of a challenge and in general, the exam is much longer.

C1 Advanced & C2 Proficiency

C1 is proof of high-level achievement in English and the ideal qualification to prepare you for university or professional life. C2 is the highest qualification and shows you have mastered English to an exceptional level.

C1 level is between 180 and 199, while C2 is between 200 and 230. Students usually need to have

achieved at least 176 on the Cambridge English Scale to meet the entry requirements to a postgraduate programme in an English Speaking Country. This is equivalent to 6.5 on IELTS or 90 on the TOEFL.
